The Branch currently offers several different classes where dancers
can learn the footwork, formations, and technique of Scottish Country
dancing. Dress casually, wear soft-soled shoes (ballet slippers or jazz shoes are ideal if you have them), and don't worry about bringing a partner.
The Branch does not currently offer classes for children; however, children of branch members may participate in the Young Dancers Mentorship Program. Please contact the Young Dancers Mentorship Program Director for further information.

Performing at Landmark Center in

Classes are free to members of the RSCDS - Twin Cities Branch. Non-members
pay $3 per class. If you are new to Scottish country dancing and not sure
if it's for you, we offer a six week free trial period.
The Branch welcomes fellow Scottish Country Dancers from out of town as well as guest observers. Guest observers are requested to be mindful of the teaching environment of our classes and respectful toward our class participants. Guest children are to be supervised at all times.
Weekly classes are over until late September 2008. Check back here for more information. Meanwhile, see the events page for information about summer dance activities.

Dancers in this class will work on footwork, covering, phrasing, and other
advanced technique and will learn more difficult dances. The repertoire
of performance dances will be reviewed at regular intervals. The class
is intended for dancers who have been taking Scottish country dance classes
for at least one year, but particpation is at the discretion of
the teachers. A general guideline would be that dancers should be competent
in their footwork and know all the basic formations. Participants should
have an interest in performing with the Branch and/or working on advanced
technique. Please talk to Lara for more information.
